Re: Token of Goodwill

has anybody every played this for no effect and/or to make a cc? I see the shortcoming of the card, but how is it a problem?

Re: Doors of Night - Effect vs Card

Since WIll of Sauron keeps Peril Returned in play, and vice versa, it is indeed an important decision. Twilight can effectively not remove Will of Sauron anymore, which makes it much more usable in a game.

Re: The Fortress of Isen

I know it's tricky, but would it be worth it to consider a more general definition of what "at the site" means? Yes some cards should only be played at/on a particular site card. But for example, when it refers to characters or companies at the site, that should refer to the site as entity, not as s...

Re: Strider

why is the 'if found' necessary? what if you don't find it, how will you take it to your hand? seems redundant to me. not that it matters much, because we are not actually reprinting a card, but since I do design cards for actual printing, I always like to keep text as lean as possible ;-) you can m...

Re: Character Limit b4/Aft Draft

While the importance of this topic/question is very narrow in scope, there is some relevance to it. Hypothetically, if your deck was designed to pursue and influence your opponent's characters away: according to Bandobras Took's answer, you could wait to see what characters your opponent reveals in...

Re: 2018 Annual Rules Vote Timeline

All of the current issues which MAY be included on the ballot are gathered nicely here: viewforum.php?f=143 you are right, that should be sufficient. I was thinking a single post which gathers and succinctly sums up each issue/proposal. But perhaps that's redundant. Depends on how many there are......

Re: 2018 Annual Rules Vote Timeline

Yep, seems good.
Would it be an idea to create a post where rough outlines and issues can be gathered, to have a first clue, and to coordinate a bit? Because issuing a completely formed proposal takes time.

Re: COE logo

I'm not up for it a.t.m., perhaps later in the year when other projects have been concluded (MENE, Worlds). A clearly recognizable and cool logo would be a definite asset though. Open it to the public, I see no problem with it, as long as we keep the final say :-) (managing expectations can sometime...

Re: No results, reports, etc. from Lure?

100 people in a castle playing MECCG in all its various formats, LotR LCG, and many many boardgames for 3 days and 2 nights..... what more do you need to know!? 8)
As usual, 3 days is not enough to talk to all good friends of yore, nor to play all the games you'd want to play.

Re: Middle-earth: The Necromancer

Preparations for The Necromancer are close to conclusion. It has taken a little longer than expected, for several reasons. - we recently had the pleasure to meet Coleman Charlton, original creator of MECCG, and he provided us with new possibilities and ideas to improve our cards. - thanks to the num...

Re: DC Playmats

The playmats were printed and presented at Lure, and I believe most people were quite happy and impressed with them! Please share your experiences. Many people at the castle who had not gotten news of them wanted to acquire one. Thus, I will start taking orders for another print. If you want to join...

Re: Player Base?!?

And how do you suppose ICE (or anybody else) should/could have kept track of the player base? What is a player base? those who own the game, those who play it (regularly), or those who attend events? After ICE went belly up, lots of meccg was dumped, and many people picked it up for little, without ...

Re: Poll: Best non-Ringwraith Deck

Voted Felagrog, Ardagor, Dragon-lord and Fallen-wizard. Though the latter is questionable as minion. As with the Dark Dwarf, I do not buy into the idea that even Saruman was fully subverted to evil, though admittedly it's a matter of definition, as nothing is black and white. The notion that some Dw...

Re: Poll: Best Ringwraith Deck

Voted Witch-king for thematic (obvious) reasons, and Khamûl, Dwar and Ûvatha for their flexible strategies. Having attempted in ME: The Necromancer to flesh out character for most of the Ringwraiths, I've come to like playing most of them. But the latter 3 offer best options for active and diverse p...

Re: Dutch cards

I think you'd best ask other traders on the general Trades section, many have collected Dutch cards in the past, while there are not many Dutch players active. And most (like myself) never even bothered to get the Dutch cards, as we prefer the English version ;-)
