Re: Submission Rules - Please Read

You did not state it was only about cards, but did mentioned only cards. "If a submission is not specific to a particular card", I took that to refer to classes of cards, not of anything other than a particular card (e.g. rules). Anyway, good to know.

Re: Genuine names for new cards

of course there are unique Orcs (and a Troll) in MENE! my point was, e.g. Shagran from your list probably refers to the same character as Shagrat, thus using that name for another Orc would be misleading, and we might as well take a 100% invented name. Whereas using e.g. Virsh from MENE is an invent...

Re: Great Bats

Yes they're not played on the company, but does this error (almost a typo) have any effect? Again, consistency, clarity, all important, but without effect it does descend a bit into linguistic nitpicking. Or are you suggesting people can legitimately duplicate it IN the company because it's not play...

Re: Submission Rules - Please Read

I just realised, so far you have mentioned errata on cards. What about errata on rules? Do they also belong here? Are they technically even called errata? For example, Bandobras maintains that the Orc/Troll rules for Fallen-wizards do not specify anything about leaders or trohpy-taking, and since th...

Re: COE logo

What is the Eye of Sauron doing in there, are you suggesting the Council of Elrond is infiltrated by agents of the Enemy? :-) I like both suggestions for input of the symbolical elements. The pensive Elrond is cool, though having Elrond himself as logo is a bit on the nose. The idea of a place could...

Re: 2018 Annual Rules Vote Timeline

There's nothing wrong with asking for transparency, and I would certainly encourage it, but I don't see the need to demand it. I will always clarify my vote/opinion, as I have done so far, and I believe (hope) people follow good examples. The standard Poll on the board prevents duplication of voting...

Re: Genuine names for new cards

cool, thanks for the tips! so far we use merp based characters, which are pretty similar, don't know if ICE was also inspired by these names from HoM, but Gabmog sounds pretty similar to Gazmog for example. We could change them to these names, then we do loose the connection to the merp background s...

has anybody every played this for no effect and/or to make a cc? I see the shortcoming of the card, but how is it a problem?

Re: Doors of Night - Effect vs Card

Since WIll of Sauron keeps Peril Returned in play, and vice versa, it is indeed an important decision. Twilight can effectively not remove Will of Sauron anymore, which makes it much more usable in a game.

Re: The Fortress of Isen

I know it's tricky, but would it be worth it to consider a more general definition of what "at the site" means? Yes some cards should only be played at/on a particular site card. But for example, when it refers to characters or companies at the site, that should refer to the site as entity, not as s...

Re: Strider

why is the 'if found' necessary? what if you don't find it, how will you take it to your hand? seems redundant to me. not that it matters much, because we are not actually reprinting a card, but since I do design cards for actual printing, I always like to keep text as lean as possible ;-) you can m...

Re: Character Limit b4/Aft Draft

While the importance of this topic/question is very narrow in scope, there is some relevance to it. Hypothetically, if your deck was designed to pursue and influence your opponent's characters away: according to Bandobras Took's answer, you could wait to see what characters your opponent reveals in...

Re: 2018 Annual Rules Vote Timeline

All of the current issues which MAY be included on the ballot are gathered nicely here: viewforum.php?f=143 you are right, that should be sufficient. I was thinking a single post which gathers and succinctly sums up each issue/proposal. But perhaps that's redundant. Depends on how many there are......

Re: 2018 Annual Rules Vote Timeline

Yep, seems good.
Would it be an idea to create a post where rough outlines and issues can be gathered, to have a first clue, and to coordinate a bit? Because issuing a completely formed proposal takes time.
