Re: 812-Saruman-Imladris

Four years later, there is an update. I am reviewing the Power Decks to add themes to the resource events. Changes include only one Dagger of Westernesse and Barrow-blade for a Sword of Gondolin and Scabbard of Chalcedony. This player will combat massive trolls. There is a tactic to move two compani...

Re: 811-Fellowship-Gandalf-Hobbits Quest

Not much has changed. First, I added Ungolcrist and Golden Chain. Legolas will use that sword to comfront spawn minion allies. Gwaihir was added so to greatly move four hobbits away from trouble. Maybe to move from Dorwnion to Lorien. I removed Dark Quarrels for another No Waiting to Wonder and Seco...

806-Power Deck Limitations

This topic is about limits to the cards allowed in the Power Decks. Characters: No eliminated character is allowed in any deck, unless as a trophy if that rule is used. Unless, corrupted hero characters can be played as minion characters with (an additional) -1 to corruption checks. Unless, body che...

Re: 803-Power Deck Costs

This post discusses the Deck Points for the Grey Players (i.e. Dragons, Balrog) Grey Players will have three slots. The Deck Points given to a Grey Player will come from the total of Game Points of the Northern Waste Division: 12. Mouth and Felagrog earned 8 Game Points. For Example, the six Avatar ...

Re: 803-Power Deck Costs

This post discusses the Deck Points for the Black Players. Black Players will have four slots. The Sauron Deck Points is discussed in another post. The Deck Points given to a Black Player will come from the total of Game Points for the "Division" it will "control" for the Power Decks. For Example, W...

803-Power Deck Costs

I would like to share updates to my Power Decks. Let me first explain limitations on how such a deck can be made. This post explaination is similar to the building of the Lidless Eye Warlord Deck. A power deck starts with the player's deck at the end of the Councils (Turn 24). Then a player with a P...

Re: Lidless Eye questions

It would be legal if the agent is an Orc or Troll per minion Urlurtsu Nurn, right?

Re: Master of Wood, Water or Hill

I agree that the card, MWWH, can be played during the Organization phase. I read before that it cannot since the region cards, as written in the rules, are yet revealed when a new site is revealed. But I have read that cards played during the Organization Phase take effect at the start of the Moveme...

Re: The Purpose of Minion Henneth Annun

Amazing!
Tolkien thought included the Sunset to the West just so the ally could be safe from itself.
Genius!

Never thought about it though myself.

Re: Prisoner cards

I looked for a while on this forum for the best thread to post this response about Flies & Spiders. I hold that the card text as originally written is correct. The hazard is played on the attack allowing all of the strikes to capture a victim. Why not? 13 dwarves and a hobbit were captured. The best...

Attached is the full notes of the practice faction wars. These notes include the previous days's commentary, but also notes of playing and moving the factions along with the battles themselves. The updated rules are included. Overall, battles are a major investment that may loose you MPs since the b...

Re: 242-War of the Sands

COMMENTARY This area of notes are for Akhorahil and Pallando. Two wars are dicussed here: Pass & Sands. Akhorahil had success defeating Pallando’s factions. The ill luck for the wizard was the death of two dwarf factions on their first battle even with Endurance of Stone in play. Movement to Mablad-...

Re: 248-Raid Along the Coasts

Note that the Battle of the Pass has to do with stopping flow of factions northwestward near Bosiri. Some battles of both wars (Pass, Sands) happened in the same region, but many turns apart. Battle of the Pass was much less than I expected due to moving Mumakaniril early and using The Whips of Thei...

Re: 247-War from the Mountains

COMMENTARY Theoden kept Riders of Rohan in Gondor, which was smart. It is a powerful faction needed for the War of the Ring. The other two factions were late. However, all three were ready to battle Ardagor and Dwarf factions in Eriador. Hoarmurath did not move. That is one of my prejudices – Overt ...

Re: 243-War of the Plains

COMMENTARY This group of avatars did not follow expectations. I thought that Vidugavia and Uvatha would battle in Rhun. Vidugavia was slow to play factions while six minion Man factions hit the table. Thus, those minions visited Gondor for battle in the First Wain-Rider War. That proved costly to De...
