Re: The White Tree

This thread has been recreated after server failure. In original thread some discussants expressed opinion that they prefer discarding a Sapling of the White Tree as condition, not as main effect. In the version from Saruman challenge deck a discarding a Sapling of the White Tree is main effect. I c...

Re: Old Road

But now we're talking about immediate actions vs non-immediate; the discussion was about cards that create actions vs cards that do not. 1. If it is really not obvious: If action allowed by a card is immediate, then the card create the action. If action allowed by a card is not immediate, then the ...

Re: Anti-One Ring hazards

The rule does not duplicate any condition written on any "influence" cards for agents. Therefore the rule is not descriptive. But you are right. "If you move The One Ring to Mount Doom and play certain cards-The One Ring is destroyed and you win." does not duplicate any condition written in texts of...

Re: Old Road

How is the difference between causing an action or not causing one determined, then? It is more difficult to determine than determining whether the word "green" is subject, or is modifier, or is adverbial in given sentence. It requires analyzing whether given phrase makes a sense in given function....

Can I use Good Sense Revolts to make an influence check if I am not at the correct site according to this rule?
If target agent is not at the correct site then no.

Re: Anti-One Ring hazards

But if The One Ring has been acquired in result of influence attempt or CvCC at Mount Doom, a moving company back and forth does not make (thematic) sense. In past I have not treated the text as rule, but as description. Similarly to: Any gold ring in one of your companies at Barad-dûr at the start ...

Re: Old Road

I still didn't observe you mentioning whether or not you think Old Road should require the character making the influence attempt to tap. Good point. My proposal is now: Playable on a untapped character at a Haven [-me_fd-] during site phase. The character makes attempt to bring a faction into play...

Re: Old Road

Yes. Here, There, or Yonder taps character, and (if roll is high enough and appropriate ally is in player's hand) the ally is played under control of the character. The character does not play the ally and untapped site is tapped in result of the event, not in result of playing ally at the site.* Bo...

I do not think that the influence attempt takes a place anywhere.
Se also Roäc the Raven (CRF entry for it).

My goodness me. Now I'm trying to work out if there's any possible advantage to putting one of your cards in your opponent's deck . . . :)
Maybe there is not. But someone may desperately need to release the card from his hand, and need to do it legally.

Re: Erratum Proposal : Neither so Ancient Nor so Potent

Can you explain why it cannot be the target of Marvels/Voices before it is resolved, and thus is not yet in the MP pile? Because until resolved Neither so Ancient Nor so Potent is not in play. Nothing may target/affect a card merely declared. Exceptions are: - cards/effects that explicitly (by card...

Re: Neither so Ancient Nor so Potent in multi-player game

My previous post is unclear.
Player plays the card on its own stored item. His MP pile is not "opponent's marshalling point pile".
He has multiple opponents.
And I forgot to ask: to hand of which opponent the item is returned?
