I dont (I must admit). However, this is another great idea - what MECCG images remind you of real life people. Interesting one.

Re: Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

What I love about this game is it works on so many levels - as a game, but also as one of the best examples of diverse art depicting Tolkiens brilliant world. Thanks for these posts - great reading! My 3 favourites in terms of the card art are probably: 1) Lake Town - Eric D Anderson (as noted in th...

Re: The 'Top Ten' Rarest MECCG cards

Thanks Thorondor - I had forgotten about the difficult to get French DMs and Spanish LEs also.

Where would these scale , in difficulty to get, relative to the Japanese Ltd Wizards and Italian Fixed cards?

Re: Balrog decks?

Ah.. Another proud Dutch Fatty owner. My Dutch Fatty is tucked up in his little binder pocket.

The thing with Balrog sets, is they are so valuable I cannot bring myself to even play with the second set either. I have managed to get a third copy of the Strider card though for playing with!

Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

Just another 'fun thread' for anyone interested: It has been often noted elsewhere that some Meccg fanatics have a one card obsession (OCO) with a particular card. I think this is interesting, and also why some of us have a OCO is also more interesting still. In my case, my OCO is for the card 'Lake...

Re: The 'Top Ten' Rarest MECCG cards

From what I can see you can still get Finnish starter decks for Wizards... Whereas Italian and Japanese are really difficult to find. However I have to say the printing and lettering (even though I cannot read it) is absolutely gorgeous on the Finnish cards. I would like to build a complete Finnish ...

Re: Balrog decks?

Two interesting points here: Kjeld ... Where can I get a proxy set? How are they distinguished from real sets? Throndor ... I know what you mean about not selling, however recent eBay sales *may* suggest Meccg isn't just a game, amazing art resource and all-round Tolkein extravaganza, but also a nic...

Re: Balrog decks?

The other issue with Balrog decks - going forward - could be that they are just too valuable to play with. If the price of the Balrog decks keeps going up in the way it has recently we could soon be in a situation where playing with the original cards just isn't a risk many people can afford to take...

Re: [FS] a few rare cards for sale

As a side note;

As in the big period of MECCG.

I see the period of 1995-1999 as the First Age of MECCG.

I actually think we are now in the early stages of the Second Age.
