Re: Cave-drake

I always thought it was weird that I.C.E. felt it necessary to introduce needless complexity by distinguishing between Dragons and Drakes . Drake, in English, is an exact (though archaic) synonym for dragon. They could have simply referred to unique vs. non-unique dragons for the cards that modify d...

Re: Cave-drake

What's really crazy is that the Spanish version literally translates to "Dragon of the Caves". So when I.C.E. (or the Spanish translator) changed the creature type to "Draque" for the MELE version, they made the Spanish card make less sense (and ironically made it equally as confusing as its English...

Re: Elven rings can't be doubly worn

I would think the -5 corruption check required for using Narya is already a pretty solid incentive not to use it twice.

Re: Cave-drake

If Cave-drake receives errata to make it a Drake hazard creature type, rather than a Dragon, it might be nice to have a dream card that causes all Drakes to also have the Dragon creature type. That would help address Shapeshifter's concern about the playability of the Dragon-specific enhancers.

Re: Bert, Tom, William keyed to "the same site path"

To give a concrete example, suppose a company were traveling from Blue Mountain Dwarf-hold to Mount Gundabad. The site path could be [-me_wi-] [-me_wi-] [-me_sl-] [-me_dd-]. If the hazard player keyed Tom to [-me_wi-] [-me_wi-], Bert to [-me_sl-], and William to [-me_dd-], then wouldn't all three be...

There's several copies of Orkstadt on Ebay at the moment, you can see pics there: https://www.ebay.com/itm/MIDDLE-EARTH-ORKSTADT-Unique-German-Promo-card-lotr-ccg-Hobbit-lord-ring/222896907317?hash=item33e5b0e435:g:RgcAAMXQrhdTUOcg Like in my own copy, there's no crown. The Bill the Pony and Book of Mazarbul changes are printed on the unlimited versions.
Ah, I didn't have the actual cards in front of me and was looking at scans (apparently Limited Edition).

Re: Player Base?!?

Out of curiosity, I started to glance through the URD v4.0 (latest version?) to see if there really are a bunch of seemingly arbitrary functional errata. Here area few examples I found: Aiglos : Does not get the bonus for Doors of Night when used in company vs. company combat. Bill the Pony : Card E...

Re: Do you have 'one card obsession' ... And why?

Ever since I read the Lord of the Rings I was fascinated by the Balrog. The beautiful painting by Rob Alexander comes close to how I always imagined this demon from the first age. I especially love those colours. The original painting by Rob Alexander is currently up for sale on Ebay! https://www.e...
