Re: A Malady Without Healing

This one for Bandobras Took (and will be the last P.G. excerpt I will post for this ARV as it's too late in the process to really matter): Lidless Eye Players Guide - A Malady Without Healing: A Malady Without Healing is better than a hazard creature for getting rid of your opponent's characters. It...

Re: A Chance Meeting / We Have Come to Kill

I would love to see texts of the player guides come up on the site if possible. It would be nice to have sources of insight into ICE's intentions available to the player base. I would be willing to scan them all in and upload them to the home page (time permitting). However, I have two concerns I w...

Re: A Chance Meeting / We Have Come to Kill

Perhaps you should have led with that  . Could you also provide the page? I'm guessing it's not from the rules section but from the card entry section or strategy guide? Ok, so by clarifying ACM, saying it's used to bring in "an additional character in one turn", things got actually less clea...

Re: A Chance Meeting / We Have Come to Kill

Not to be overly cynical, but I don't see the authors of the player's guides anywhere under the list of game designers, or even official playtesters. There is zero reason for me to believe that their understanding of the rules was any greater than any other enthusiastic thoughtful player, or that t...

Re: When a company is at a site

They might still, thematically speaking, be en route . Then you would agree with this under your interpretation?: You move company #1 through a wilderness, their M/H phase ends, hand size is resolved. You move company # 2 through a wilderness, their M/H phase ends, hand size is resolved. You move c...

Re: Cave-drake

While I was looking through the Lidless Eye Players Guide for a different card, I happened across this passage for Cave-drake, which is listed under the CREATURES / DRAKES section: CAVE-DRAKE Cave-drake is one of the most popular creatures in the game. It has a good frequency of play and can be keye...

Re: A Chance Meeting / We Have Come to Kill

However, WHCtK is explicit in overturning the 1 character per turn rule. But it mentions nothing of the timing. Also, is there an example for WHCtK similar to ACM in the MELE player guide? Here is what the MELE Player's Guide says about We Have Come to Kill: We Have Come to Kill You may have notice...

Re: Earcaraxe & Long Dark Reach

If Earcaraxe is disallowed, so are the other Unique Dragons. None of them are playable keyed to a region unless Doors is in play. That's not necessarily true if Example #2 is correct. In this case, Earcaraxe would require DoN, but the other Dragon's would not (because Earcaraxe's home site is the o...

Just to clarify: Angband untaps the character before the permanent event is declared.
Yes, that's correct. I play Angband Revisted, untap a character. I then play XYZ permanent event from my hand.

Re: Earcaraxe & Long Dark Reach

I have a follow-up question to this topic.... LONG DARK REACH Playable on a moving company with at least one Wilderness [ [-me_wi-] ] in its site path if you have at least 10 cards in your play deck. Reveal the top seven cards of your play deck. One revealed Nazgûl, Dragon, or a non‐unique creature ...

Re: We Have Come to Kill & Ringwraith Followers

Perhaps this should have been a status quo item. Yes, as Bandobras points out above, this is not crystal clear as it is unknown what Van really meant. There are many examples of ICE saying one thing when they surely meant to say something slightly different. I attempted to properly explain this iss...

Re: Events Requiring Character to Tap After Combat

I asked the same question earlier this year: http://forum.councilofelrond.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3236 I use Angband Revisited in my Balrog deck. I must time its use to right before declaring the permanent event which requires a character to tap (when needed). Then I play any attack canceling cards...

I'll let you know asap
Hi Llewy,

Is all of your stuff gone now? If so, I will lock this topic. Thanks.
